It may go all the way up until pregame, until we can get a chance to see him and how he does in that." Gabbert is recovering from a hairline fracture in his right thumb. He missed the final two preseason games because of the injury and has been dealing with pain and a weakened grip. But hes been able to throw with little or no noticeable issues this week, a positive sign he will be able to start against the Chiefs. "He not a hundred per cent and may have some soreness in his hand, but like I mentioned before, it cant get any worse, so he will just have to deal with that little bit of pain," Bradley said. Barring any setbacks, Gabbert expects to play. "I getting more and more comfortable throwing the ball and were just seeing how it feels," he said. Gabbert wont have receiver Justin Blackmon, who is suspended the first four games of the season for violating the leagues substance-abuse policy, or tight end Marcedes Lewis, who was ruled out because of a calf injury. For Gabbert, though, the biggest thing is being patient with his own injury. "Its just one of those deals," he said. "I dont know.
